SENATE BILL No. 6

Purpose: To create a statewide health insurance purchasing pool. Senate Bill 6 would create a statewide pool which would reduce the cost of insurance for thousands of Delaware’s families and small businesses, by giving them some of the same advantages that big companies now have when purchasing health insurance. There is $5 million allocated in the Governor’s proposed budget to start the pool, a level of funding that would allow more than 10,000 Delawareans to enroll in the pool in its first year.

SB 78: An Act to Amend Title 31 of the
Delaware Code Relating to Child Care Quality

Purpose: To codify child care subsidy reimbursement rates no less than
75% of the current fair market rate, as determined by the Division of Social
Services Market Rate Study performed every 2 years and to establish a minimum of
three tiers of child care reimbursement based on quality of care.

SB 146: An Act to Amend Title 18 of the
Delaware Code Creating a Delaware Health Insurance Pool

Purpose: To create a statewide purchasing pool for small businesses
and individuals and to guarantee payment of catastrophic illnesses/occurrences.

HB 376: An Act to Amend Title 14 of the Delaware
Code Relating to Reorganization of School Districts
This bill would allow the individual school districts to allow corporal
punishment to be administered by its teachers, administrators, official
employees or agents of the school.
