Food Programs

Did you know that healthy and nutritious foods should be provided as an important part of your childcare business?  To help child care providers accomplish this goal, the the Delaware Department of Education offers the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).  The CACFP is a meal reimbursement program, administered in Delaware by the Department of Education and funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The CACFP serves children enrolled in licensed or approved centers and family day care homes.

Participating facilities serving meals that fulfill the USDA guidelines are eligible for cash reimbursement for up to 3 meals per day (one of which must be a snack) per enrollee.
